
Nearly 40 years – only two family owners – the warmest of Lancashire welcomes!
It was 1996 when Clive Tolley and his wife Diana, and her family purchased the business from the previous owners the Roach family. Every chef wants his own restaurant and Clive was no exception. He and Diana had spent a long time looking for just the right venue and decided Ryecroft Hall was it. Well established, a fine restaurant where he could put to use all his culinary skills and the room to cater for functions and weddings. The Tolleys could carry on the family ownership and attention to this lovely country house business adding their own flair and style extending the Ryecroft tradition for excellence.
Fifteen years on, the Tolleys clearly can claim Ryecroft’s excellence as their own. The restaurant has been extended and the entire building has been refurbished in their style adding two small, private dining rooms. Clive’s reputation as a top chef is now well known. He continues to create menus using fresh local products whenever possible to tantalise taste buds at moderate prices for the restaurant. The personalised catering for weddings and functions keeps them continually busy throughout the year.
